Why be part of the solution?

I think it is important to protect the environment not only for the future generations but also because I enjoy being outdoors and enjoying what nature has to offer. I have been an active environmentalist since I was in about the 7th grade. I attempted to start a recycling program and took an AP Environmental class in high school which taught me a lot about the environmental movement learning about Rachel Carson, John Muir, Sierra Club and many other original leaders in the environmental movement. These are just a few of the many of the reasons I am an environmentalist today!
